Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter Tutti Frutti

Sheer lipsticks have become a big trend this year and I for one am a big fan!

I have heard about the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters for quite a while but only recently got round to purchasing one. Being a huge coral lover I decided on the colour Tutti Frutti.

The lipstick is described as a buttery balm consistency with beautiful shiny colour to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips.

I have only tried one sheer lipstick before, and that was when I nabbed some of my mums Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Just Chance which I have to say is so so beautiful, but unfortunately a hefty price tag comes with it!

From trying out the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter, I was pleasantly surprised. I really loved the orange/coral colour. It is great for summer and can be applied either sheerly for a hint of colour or layered for a stronger look. It was very moisturising  and pretty much worked as both a lipstick and lipgloss which was handy. In terms of staying power it lasted about 2-3 hours.

This lipstick retails £7.99 and is available in 14 shades in the UK.

Overall I really liked it. I'm not sure if I would bother buying it again or if I would rather try another sheer lipstick from a different range (I have my eye on L'Oreal Caresse Rouge in Cheeky Magnenta!)

Have you tried any sheer lipsticks this year? What are your thoughts on them?

Ombre Nails

At the moment I am LOVING ombre hair and nails! It gets me very excited for summer and has a very sunny/coachella/hippy feel to it.

If anyone saw Lauren Conrads dip dyed pink hair recently thats the kind of look I am currently in love with.

Recently I came across a tutorial for ombre nails and I had to try it out. I am a complete nail newbie, and also a terrible clutz, yet the tutorial was unbelievably easy and took me about 5 minutes to master! I went for a pinky/purple look.

Firstly I got all my items together, for my look I used Barry M Bright Pink 279, Ciate Nail Polish 0711, a clear nail polish for my top coat (one that i've had for yonks), and finally a make up sponge.

I painted all my nails in one coat of Barry M Bright Pink. Once this had dried I applied a line of Ciate Nail Polish 0711 to the tip of the make up sponge and dabbed it onto paper to remove the excess. Then I dabbed the sponge onto the tip of my nails to create a tie dye effect. Once this had dried I applied a top coat of clear nail polish to blend the colours.

This was the finished look. I am really pleased with them and it was so easy to do! I hope you enjoy and find this useful :).

Summer Skin (Dermalogica Treatment Foundation)

Summer is rolling around and every girl wants to achieve the appearance of a bronzed glowing goddess (wishful thinking in this poop weather). I find that in summer I prefer to wear a much lighter foundation that what I would wear in winter. In winter I want to hibernate and protect my poor cold weather abused face. In summer I prefer to use a tinted moisturiser where I can let my skin breathe.

A great foundation I have found for summer is the Dermalogica Treatment Foundation.

This foundation is amazing for those with oily/break out prone skin. It is a lightweight, oil-free, water based liquid make-up that is non-comedogenic and formulated without artificial colours or fragrances.

It offers a great level of coverage, whilst moisturising and protecting the skin.

Personally I love it. Rather than clogging your skin with a foundation, this is more of a treat for your skin and  is basically skincare disguised as make up. It can be used either to provide a flawless coverage, or as a sheer tinted moisturiser. I use it when my skin is playing up to get it back to normal, and also in summer when I want to protect and moisturise my skin due to the sun.

Whenever I have used this foundation in the past I have gotten great compliments that my skin is glowing and looking very healthy, so I would definitely recommend it.

Recently I found out on Twitter that Louise Thompson from Made in Chelsea is also a fan of this product, who always looks beaut!

Some downfalls of the product are that it is not very long lasting, it rubs off easily and if you get it wet it is a gonner!

It is quite a pricey foundation, I usually get it off of www.beautyflash.co.uk for 24.99. Its a good site as its 5.00 cheaper than the RRP and they also give you free samples of Dermalogica with your purchase- good times!

I usually get the colour 1G. I hope you guys find this post useful!

Are there any summer foundations you would recommend?
